Welcome to the World
Once your baby is born, you simply need to notify the hospital staff that you have chosen Stapleton Pediatrics or Pearl Street Pediatrics to provide your baby's pediatric healthcare.
If you deliver at either Rose Medical Center or Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital, our office will be immediately notified. It is then our responsibility to have one of our pediatricians come to the hospital within the first 24 hours after birth to examine your newborn and to answer any questions you may have regarding your new baby. One of our pediatricians will visit with you daily, examine your baby and eventually plan for follow-up in our office, often within 1-3 days after discharge from the hospital.
If you deliver at a hospital other than Rose Medical Center or Presbyterian St. Luke's, your baby will receive a daily exam by the hospital pediatrician who will also visit with you and answer any questions you have regarding your new baby. Upon discharge from the hospital, the pediatrician will recommend an appropriate follow-up appointment with our office, often within 1-3 days after discharge from the hospital. Simply contact us to schedule your first visit.
If you deliver at a birthing center or at home the midwife working with you will often times provided care for your newborn for up to the first six weeks of life. We are happy to become involved in your child’s care earlier if you would like or a need arises - simply contact our office.
